"Kom kyk wat Hy in daardie laaste, kosbare dae doen en nie doen nie, waaroor en met wie Hy praat, by wie Hy eet, waaroor word Hy kwaad, wat maak Hom hartseer, waarna sien Hy uit…Kom kyk terug, kyk op, kyk vorentoe. Kom sing en lag en bid en luister. En kom skep moed vir jou eie reis."

Annalise sal die groepsessies lei met haar inspirerende woorde en liedjies. En as jy graag ook op jou eie wil stilword, is daar genoeg kans vir afsondering en rus.

Maak seker jy bespreek sommer dadelik, daar's net 'n beperkte hoeveelheid plekke beskikbaar.

Liewe Leser,

Wat dan nou mooier as die asemrowende natuurskoon van die Oos-Vrystaat om 'n mens te inspireer tot stilword, rus en geestelike asemskep?

Kom nader aan God se hart is die tema van ons wegbreek-naweek by St Augustine's, 'n prentjie mooi konferensie-sentrum sowat 15 km buite Ladybrand.

Met sy rug teen die berg, werf vol reuse-eike en ouwêreldse klip-kapel met brandglasvensters is dié ou sendingstasie 'n ware rusplek vir jou siel.

Liedjievrou, storieverteller en gewilde spreker Annalise Wiid sal ons in die groepsessies lei om weer intiem in voeling met God – en met al die diep plekke van ons eie hart – te kom. Daar sal ook kans wees vir afsondering, nadenke, gebed en berading.

New Mantsopa Tourism Forum Logo

The Mantsopa Tourism Forum has embarked on a vigorous marketing campaign to promote tourism and sustainable tourism development in the Mantsopa Municipal Region.

Mr. Jan Oberholzer has been appointed as the Tourism Marketing Agent for the Mantsopa Tourism Forum.

The Mantsopa Tourism Forum Committee has been very active in plotting the way forward and at one of the meetings; it was decided to get professional assistance from six different design companies to design a new logo for the Mantsopa Tourism Forum . Mr. Tello Tebesi the Tourism Manager of Motheo gave valuable advice to the Forum by informing the meeting that for branding purposes, the logo should be in line with the Free State Tourism Authority and all the other logos of the various areas and towns along the Maloti Drakensberg Route in the Eastern Free State.

As this Route is a predominantly mountainous route with the Eastern Free State Sandstone mountains forming the foothills to the magnificent Maloti Mountains, the Tourism Marketing Agent did research regarding the branding and icons used by our neighboring towns and Free State Tourism Authority.

As icon, the Free State Tourism Authority has selected the Brandwag Rock in Golden Gate; Clarens has Titanic Rock or Mount Herob; Fouriesburg uses the Visierskerf Mountain and Ficksburg uses the Soutkop Pinnacle.

The Mantsopa Tourism Forum decided to choose two icons, namely the Pinnacle at Modderpoort and the Thaba Phachoa Mountain, due to their historical importance and because they can be easily identified from all roads leading to the Mantsopa Municipal Region.

Their names derive from Sesotho and translated into English have significant meaning in the area:- Thaba Phachoa or Grey Mountain, and the Modderpoort Pinnacle Lekhalong La Bataung or The Pass of the Lion Clan.

The Mantsopa Tourism Forum will be holding a meeting in June 2009 to discuss the preparations for the 2010 Soccer World Cup. Jan Oberholzer has been invited to attend a 2010 Activation Planning session being held by the Free State Tourism Authority in conjunction with the Northern Cape Tourism authority in the Department of Environment, Economic and Tourism boardroom on June the 5^th, 2009.

The Mantsopa Tourism Forum will follow up with a stakeholder meeting where all role-players will be invited to attend.

Maseru United Church Retreat

Members of the Maseru United Church visited Modderpoort last year as part of their 100 year celebration.

Members agreed that the sacred atmosphere was conducive to the overall well being of the group during their retreat. Following the success they immediately booked the venue again for this year.

The retreat will run from 4 -6 September 2009.
